Royal Wootton Bassett
Running Club

Founded in 1983. Originally focused on road running, the club has expanded to embrace trail running, cross-country, and cycling, while also operating a dedicated triathlon division launched in August 2013.

A Running club for the whole town

The club is based out of the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground on Brinkworth Road. They host weekly group runs on Wednesday evenings and hill/speed coaching on Mondays. Runners are divided into various pace groups, covering distances from 4 to 10 miles.

The club organises it's own races, including Lungbuster (9 mile off-road), Broad Town 5 (5 mile), and Royal Wootton Bassett Triathlon.

The club send multiple teams of all abilities to the Wiltshire Road Race League and Wiltshire Off-Road Race League, and compete with clubs based across Wiltshire, Somerset and Gloucestershire.

Memberships are very affordable, as we run on a non-profit basis. Full members benefit from England Athletics affiliation, giving them discounts on race entries, as well as membership of Royal Wootton Bassett Sport Association.

New members will be able to come to three weeks of sessions before deciding whether to join. We ask that anyone joining in weekly club runs is able to run continuously for 3 miles. We also offer ten week beginner sessions for just £15, with no obligation to join the club.
