Royal Wootton Bassett
Tennis Club

Founded in 1974, the Royal Wootton Bassett Tennis Club is one of the largest and friendliest tennis organizations in Wiltshire. It has grown from a single court at the old Manor House to a premium, eight-court floodlit facility at the multi-million-pound Gerard Buxton Sports Ground.

A tennis club for the whole town

Today, the club boasts over 200 members ranging in age from 5 to 75. It provides opportunities for all skill levels, fielding multiple teams in the Swindon and District League and offering extensive coaching programs for both adults and juniors.

The Club originated on a single court, known as Manor House Tennis Club, at the former council offices. It relocated to the Wootton Bassett Sports Association’s Gerard Buxton Sports Ground, Rylands Way, in the 1970s where, through members' efforts, the single court evolved into a floodlit four-court facility.

As the club expanded, the 7-acre site at Rylands Way became too small to support burgeoning team memberships in the 21st century. Following a major 10-year project spearheaded by the Royal Wootton Bassett Sports Association (RWBSA), the club relocated in 2015.

We welcome players of all abilities and ages, from under 5 through to adul, and always need volunteers to help with coaching, fundraising, organisation and committee roles. If you're new to the area or just starting out, there's a place for you here.
